Dachun Soap｜Caring for People and the Planet.

Founded in 1923, Dachun Soap began when Japanese soapmaker Gonshichi Inoue established a factory in Dadaocheng, drawing on years of craftsmanship and experience in soapmaking. The business focused on producing and selling locally made soap in Taiwan, gradually expanding its reach across northern, central, and southern Taiwan.

In 1934, Mr. Lee Shui-Tu founded Shuiji Trading Company in Dadaocheng. True to the meaning of his name, “Shui-Tu,” or “water and earth,” he lived by the belief that people and the land should coexist in harmony. Guided by the principle of “Protect the Earth. Live together with the land, in coexistence and harmony,” he began a business selling soap, candles, and other everyday goods.

In 1950, Mr. Lee took over Dachun Soap from Mr. Inoue. Upholding the spirit of living in harmony with the land, he continued the production and sale of soap with integrity, carrying forward and expanding the values at the heart of the business.

In 2016, now in the hands of the third generation, Dachun Soap returned to where its story first began—Dadaocheng.

The name and identity of Dachun Soap continue to embody Mr. Lee’s values and spirit. The character “煉” (lian) represents the care, patience, and dedication poured into perfecting every bar of soap. Simple and pure at heart, our soaps are made with respect for both people and the planet, embracing sustainability, coexistence, and harmony.

For more than a century, each generation has remained faithful to Mr. Lee’s belief in living alongside the land. Today, Dachun Soap continues to carry forward his original vision, sharing this spirit of care and blessing with more people—creating products that are kind to people and kind to the planet.
